Water scarcity is a big environmental concern, with efforts being made worldwide to minimize the impacts and guarantee a more sustainable future of it. Agriculture is one of the most important activities in the world, but it accounts for the use of a lot of water resources. Minimizing its use must be a priority. Proper irrigation planning can improve crop yield, while using the water resources efficiently. This work addresses the problem.


Objectivos:

• Acquire soil moisture data through low cost sensors;

• Support both single independent sensor nodes and multiple nodes in a local network;

• Enable the configuration of new fields and devices by the farmer;

• Enable the request for irrigation plan updates;

• Enable the farmer to use different hardware platforms to access the irrigation plans easily;

• Store additional historic data, both inputs and outputs of the planning algorithm, that can be later used for more in-depth studies, besides the necessary data for the irrigation planning;

• Alert the user when the soil moisture on the field is dangerous to the crops or a device stops working.
