This project aims to provide methods to assess lamp properties using widely available devices that only need be calibrated for the purpose.


Objectivos:

The project consists of two main parts:

- The first deals with measurements of the electrical supply demands, both in average power and implicit non-linear characteristics of the load, where these put a severe burden on the power supply networks, once its usage spreads and the counter measures to correct are not available.

- The second part relates with the spectral quality of the light. To do this a costly apparatus (light spectrum analyser) is usually needed. The proposed approach relies on the use of general purpose digital cameras, widely available and not used for its non calibrated output, further complicated by the non linear properties of the digital image relative to the
optical input.
